In connection with the epidemic of coronavirus in the world and the flu season in the DPR, Minister of Health Olga Dolgoshapko commented on the epidemiologic situation in the Republic, a correspondent from the DPR Official Website reports.
“Coronavirus, like any viral infection, spreads by airborne transmission. To protect yourself from it, you need to wear masks, wash your hands and face thoroughly, and try to limit your presence at mass events. At the first signs of the disease, you must immediately seek medical attention. Most importantly, there is no need to panic.
There is no coronavirus in the Donetsk People’s Republic as of today, the situation is under the control of the Ministry of Health. We have taken all measures to prevent the infiltration of this infection into the territory of the Republic, hospital facilities have been arranged in the event of coronavirus occurrence, a stock of medications and everything necessary to help the infected and those who contacted them has been formed
If such a situation suddenly arises, we will be able to provide medical assistance to all those in need in a timely manner. Like any viral infection, it can be cured. The main thing is to get medical care in time,” the Minister of Health said.
Olga Dolgoshapko noted that the incidence of H1N1 influenza (swine flu) is increasing in the Republic.
“The danger of this infection lies in the fact that it affects primarily the respiratory system and there is a respiratory impairment in the form of severe acute respiratory syndrome. The incidence of influenza in the Republic is below the epidemic threshold now.
Dear fellow countrymen, remember that the flu is curable, you only need to seek medical help in time.
There is no need to introduce a quarantine in the Republic so far,” Olga Dolgoshapko informed.
