On March 6, at the regular meeting of the People’s Council, MPs considered the draft law of the Donetsk People’s Republic On Amendments to the DPR Law On Education, proposed by DPR Head Denis Pushilin.
“The draft law provides that educational activities will be carried out in the state language, while students will still be able to get preschool, primary and basic general education in their mother tongue at the request of their parents,” DPR Head’s envoy to the People’s Council Alexey Sukhinin told.
He emphasized that when the amendments to the DPR Law on Education are passed, the DPR Government will have to ensure that this law is brought in line with regulatory legal acts of the republic executive body implementing the state policy in the field of education by the beginning of 2020-2021 academic year.
Since the draft law will improve the legal regulation in the sphere of the usage of the DPR state language in terms of educational activities, MPs voted for its adoption through two readings. Then, the DPR Law On Amendments to the Law On Education will be submitted for signature to the DPR Head and shall come into force after being published on the website of the People’s Council.
