There is every reason to believe that the situation with the coronavirus incidence in Ukraine will grow worth, including due to the massive return of Ukrainian citizens from Italy, Spain, Poland and other European countries, where thousands of infected people have already been identified, a statement from Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin reads.
“In view of these circumstances, in order to prevent the penetration of the coronavirus infection into the Republic, it was decided to completely close the border and customs checkpoints of the Donetsk People’s Republic on the border with Ukraine for the movement of citizens starting from 00:00 on March 21, 2020.
Residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic, now present in the Ukraine-controlled territory, still have time to return home. I want to stress that all necessary measures will be taken so that those who return will be placed under medical observation
At the same time, I emphasize that no cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the DPR to date,” the statement says.
