The situation with regard to the possible importation and spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus is constantly monitored by the authorities in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Republic has approved a range of measures to prevent the importation of this hazardous infection.
As a correspondent of the DPR Official Website reports on March 18, in pursuance of the Decree of the DPR Head On the Introduction of High-Alert Regime and the resolution of the Interdepartmental Operational Headquarters to prevent the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection, the DPR Emergency Situations Ministry has launched medical checks of citizens, arriving from the temporarily Ukraine-controlled territory. The examination is carried out with a view to identify the individuals having increased body temperature when crossing the state border.
“Medical personnel of the DPR Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief continue to provide emergency and rapid medical assistance to citizens crossing the border at the checkpoints for entering and departing.
Thus, in compliance with the resolution of the Interdepartmental Operational Headquarters to prevent the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection, Pamir-30 frame tents have been set up at the Elenovka, Alexandrovka, Mayorsk and Oktyabr checkpoints, which are provided with the necessary basic equipment, for temporary isolation of individuals suspected of carrying an infectious disease.
At the same time, in order to identify individuals having increased body temperature, the personnel of the Emergencies Ministry’s medical service have been provided with remote-sensing thermometers,” Alexander Esakov, Head of the Medical Department of the DPR Emergencies Ministry and Senior Lieutenant of the Civil Defence Service, commented.
