As of April 2, two cases of COVID-19 confirmed by laboratory tests have been registered in the Donetsk People’s Republic, all of them are members of one family, DPR Minister of Health Olga Dolgoshapko informs.

“The patients with coronavirus, a woman who came from Russia and her two-year-old child, are in an infection department. The condition of both is satisfactory, she has a mild case, the child has no symptoms, he is only a virus carrier. The closest family members of the sick are in infectious disease departments under medical supervision, their condition is satisfactory too,” the Health Minister told the details.

She also noted that there are 10,254 people under observation. Of them, 131 are at in-patient departments, while 10,123 are isolated at home (those who crossed the border between March 27 and April 1). Four persons who were previously under medical supervision have been discharged from hospitals and their condition is satisfactory. The Ministry of Health is monitoring the epidemiological situation.

The Minister of Health called on the citizens of the Republic to observe rules of personal hygiene and in-home isolation and avoid mass gatherings, as the coronavirus infection is transmitted through common air usage.
