Today, on April 9, during the communication between Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin and activists of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, which was arranged via videoconferencing, Mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko voiced the issue of conducting a military parade on May 9 and other events related to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory amid the high readiness regime.

“Indeed, the issue is important, it worries all of us, because it is especially important for us to have a parade on the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. I tell you that decisions will be made at the very last moment. So far, I believe we should still have it. Maybe without viewers, via live broadcasting on our channels, but there should be a parade. So far, no one can predict how things will change in the future. If the situation remains at least within such limits as it is now, the parade should be held.

As for the Immortal Regiment, it is more complicated. The more people the more contacts, masks will not help here even in the open air. I am more worried about this situation. Alternatives are being considered. I expect the Young Republic, as the main organizer, to join in fully and suggest its options. Because the Immortal Regiment is inalienably tied up with the Victory Parade for us.

As for the other trips, we will take decisions at relevant meetings just before these events.

Planning and predicting is a very thankless task now. I think that the peak of the pandemic has not passed yet. We should proceed from the incidence of the disease in the Russian Federation, we do not care about Ukraine in this regard, as the border is closed. As soon as the peak in Russia has passed, we will be able to consider the situation here, we should have positive trends as well,” Denis Pushilin replied.
