With the closure of borders between states due to the threat of the new coronavirus infection spread, the ongoing integration processes with the Russian Federation raise certain concerns of our citizens. In answering this question, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin assured that integration processes cannot be stopped. The Head of State stated this in the course of the online communication with activists of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement on April 9.
“The processes of integration with Russia constitute something that cannot be derailed, even the coronavirus is unable to do this.
Indeed, we can now consider some reformatting of the interaction proceeding from security measures. Thus far, we have transferred the Russian Center’s activities into a video conference format. We are discussing legislation improvement and various venues for further thematic video conferences.
Looking from the outside, and this is my personal opinion, we can see that we have, in fact, the actual border with Ukraine. It is a foreign state for us. Ukraine, in fact, no longer considers us [the Republic] to belong to it either, no matter what they claim.
We now feel like one of the Russian regions. Our specialists virologists go trained and consulted in Russia, we are guided by the recommendations of the Russian Federation’s Health Ministry, we receive test systems and related consumables again from Russia. We are taking measures with an eye to other Russian regions, looking up to the measures being taken to prevent the coronavirus infection spread. Therefore, it’s all now out in the open. And the crisis situation putы things in perspective,” Denis Pushilin said.
