Today, on April 14th, two patients, a woman and a child, were discharged from City Hospital 3 of Gorlovka. They were diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized in late March. According to a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, the woman is 28 years old and the child is 2.5 years old.

According to the medical director of Hospital 3 of Gorlovka, 24 patients have been observed and treated in the hospital until the present, including these two patients with COVID-19, who returned from Moscow.

“The woman and her child came to us with ARVI signs: anosmia, dry cough, rhinitis, sickness and fever. They underwent a series of treatment successfully and were tested for COVID-19 negative twice. Today they were discharged from the hospital, where they were getting a series of symptomatic treatment. They had a mild case, completely recovered now and are no longer carriers of COVID-19,” she stressed.

She also noted that 14 people with suspected coronavirus had been discharged after special tests turned out negative twice.

At the same time, the medical director specified that the hospital has all the necessary means of protection for the medical workers in full and, if necessary, the staff is ready for any progression of mild and moderate cases of COVID-19. In addition, all the necessary medications for symptomatic treatment are available, and none of the medical staff became ill with coronavirus during this period.

In turn, chief of the Gorlovka City Hall’s Health Department Alexander Prosyanik added that two hospital facilities for single cases or patients with suspected coronavirus had been formed in the city: City Hospital 3 and the Family and Health local medical association.

“During the whole period, there have been four patients tested positive for COVID-19 in our city. Two of them were discharged today and two more are being treated in the Family and Health local medical association. The condition of the latter patients with the coronavirus infection is satisfactory, they have passed the first test, and when they pass the second one, they will be discharged soon too. To date, 16 patients with suspected COVID-19 remain under medical observation in Gorlovka,” he summed up.

Recall that the high alert regime has been in force in the DPR since March 14 due to the threat of COVID-19 spread. According to the DPR Ministry of Health, 18 cases of the coronavirus infection have been registered in the Republic so far.
