Comedian Vladimir Zelensky came to power following the second round of presidential election, which took place in Ukraine exactly one year ago. It is unlikely that Zelensky would agree to a challenge to live for a month with the minimum pension now. Given the price hikes and outrageous rates for housing and utilities services, I think we can safely say that Poroshenko would have found himself in more favorable conditions in such an experiment a year ago.
Besides, Zelensky has never suspended, but continued the ruinous reform of the health care system, which he criticized just a year ago as completely untenable. It should be added that another stage of this reform began when the country had faced the coronavirus epidemic. The adventurism of the failed reformers can be called nothing but criminal.
If the debate were to happen now, Zelensky would not be able to answer the other questions. How did he manage to lead the country’s economy to a meltdown just in a year? Who will return the land of Ukraine to its descendants, when it is sold out only to tighten the debt burden even stronger? Why did he claim the reestablishment of peace in Donbass to be a priority, but the number of victims only increased?
Of course, all these questions are rhetorical and Zelensky cannot answer them. But do the people of Ukraine, who chose such a president, understand that they have once again been deceived? Then again, this question is unanswerable,” Muratov said.
