Specialists have completed repair works to the 110 kV power line Zavodskaya-4/5№2 with branch lines to Uzlovaya, Dolomit and Bayrak. It was damaged by AFU fire, the DPR Ministry of Coal and Energy’s press service reported on April 24.
The line was damaged on April 18, but electricians worked out reserve options in advance — some substations were re-connected to other power sources. Thanks to such actions, the electricity supply was not disrupted despite the significant damage to the power line, no consumers were left without electricity.
On the same day, as soon as the situation allowed, specialists from the Central Town Grids, the Regional Power Supply Company’s subdivision, examined the line and found the damage.
It was not possible to set to repair work on the same day because the damaged sections of the power line were in Kiev militants’ line-of-sight from their positions. Ceasefire for the duration of the work was requested from the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination.
Once the necessary approvals were provided, electricians accompanied by a tactical response team of the Regional Power Supply Company and JCCC officers started the planned work on April 22. All the work was done already on April 23.
