On the anniversary of the momentous event for Donbass, the date when Vladimir Putin signed the decree on the simplified procedure for issuing Russian passports to the residents of the Republics, the President of the Russian Federation has signed a federal law exempting the residents of Donbass from paying state duty when acquiring Russian citizenship.
This benefit is really essential for the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic, but we value the importance and significance of this decision not only from a material point of view.
For these six years, Russia has been always close to us, supporting us both in word and deed. And today we have again witnessed another historic event. By such actions, the leadership of the Russian Federation demonstrates its humanism and true attitude towards the people of Donbass, protecting us by all means available today, recognizing and restoring our rights. This once again proves that we truly belong with Russia now.
