Seven special treatment centers for disabled people, including children, operate under the aegis of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. There are also two treatment facilities for physically challenged children, based at local social service centers, the Ministry’s press service reports.
The institutions carry out comprehensive physiotherapy for adults and children both with physical and mental disabilities
The centers give treatment to children aged 2 to 18 and young people aged 18 to 35 with various disabilities, providing for various therapy regimens. A period of treatment lasts for an average of three months or more and it is free of charge.
A physically challenged person or child is referred for such a center based on a disabled person’s individual treatment regimen featuring appropriate medical advice.
As of April 1, 2020, 378 disabled people, including 308 children, are registered for treatment in the centers of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
