DPR Commissioner for Human Rights Darya Morozova has sent letters to the ICRC, UN and OSCE SMM, asking for assistance in ensuring the security and safety of relatives of the AFU ex-soldier who came over to the Donetsk People’s Republic.

“The Ukrainian authorities have again demonstrated their contemptuous attitude to the rights and freedoms of civilians. This is evidenced by their use of methods of psychological pressure to obtain information they need, as well as the pressure on DPR supporters by persecuting their relatives living in Ukraine.

A.V. Kapitsky born 1972 turned to us and asked for legal protection and assistance in ensuring the safety and security of his family. The SBU illegally threatened his mother and father with prosecution. They regularly threaten them and demand to testify against their son to charge him with high treason,” Morozova stated.

She also called on the international organizations to make a proper legal assessment of the actions of Ukrainian law-enforcers, and recalled that this was not the first time that illegal methods of influence had been used against relatives of DPR supporters living in Ukraine.
