During the live cal-in show with Denis Pushilin, which took place on June 16, the Head of the Republic was asked topical questions about the reconstruction of housing damaged by hostilities. According to a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, an appeal came from the residents of one of these houses in Donetsk on Dmitriya Medvedeva Street.
“The topic of housing reconstruction is very acute, it is always on the agenda. We have got many examples, when the same houses were rebuilt several times. This is due to the fact that they are close to the line of contact. However, our task is to reconstruct them. The current program provides for the reconstruction of 50 apartment buildings. Technical documentation is being drawn up for another 200 houses, in the near future we will know when we can start rebuilding them. It’s the program that should work in general, it should correspond to the realities at the line of contact,” Denis Pushilin said.
DPR Minister of Construction Industry, Housing and Public Utilities Sector Sergei Naumets confirmed that some facilities had been rebuilt two or three times due to the ongoing hostilities.
“Over these years, more than 12.5 thousand facilities out of 29 thousand destroyed have been reconstructed by republic builders. As for the house on Dmitriya Medvedeva Street, the sources of funding were determined by Decree of the DPR Government on June 5, 2020, and this object will be restored by the end of the year,” Sergei Naumets reported.
At that, Denis Pushilin emphasized that the process of construction and reconstruction must be absolutely overt and transparent.
“All construction and reconstruction will be taking place right before your eyes. You need to see and watch. Everything must be clear and transparent. And no one should doubt that all the money will go to what is planned,” the Head of State claims.
