On July 1, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on the cessation of hostilities for 90 days in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, DPR Commissioner for Human Rights Darya Morozova commented on this decision.
The Ombudsperson noted that the new coronavirus infection has already claimed more than half a million lives worldwide and can by surmounted only by joint efforts, putting aside disagreement and conflicts.
“I fully support and emphasize the importance of the resolution that the UN Security Council adopted on July 1, 2020, on the global and immediate cessation of hostilities for a period of three months.
I call on Ukraine to heed to this resolution, proceed with more proactive steps for rapid fulfillment of all the paragraphs prescribed in the Minsk Agreements and though joint efforts coordinate solution of humanitarian problems arising at the line of contact.
The global issue of survival is facing now all of humanity. We must not forget that we are responsible for the lives and destinies of our citizens,” Darya Morozova stressed.
