Ukraine’s war crimes do not fall under the statute of limitations, and a new tribunal will be held against President Zelensky and his team, deputy of the DPR People’s Council and Chair of the Ukrainian People’s Tribunal Elena Shishkina claimed on July 14 during the interview with a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

“Since 2014, there has been a group working in Donbass, composed of public activists, lawyers, criminalists, just non-indifferent people who keep record and investigate war crimes that Ukraine committed against the residents of Donbass. This group of public activists is now registered as the Fair Defense Public Organization.

Attacks, deaths and destruction continue unabated, unfortunately. Representatives of Fair Defense every day go to the scenes of crimes to record them, conduct examinations, search evidence, confirm it, establish specific names of Ukrainian soldiers, the persons who committed these crimes.

Following the interim results of the work of this public commission, the Ukrainian People’s Tribunal was held in 2018, it passed its first verdict against Poroshenko and his team on June 22, 2018, the second verdict was passed in July, because during the hearing of the first case we learnt the names of other defendants who were not in the first case.

Due to the fact that, unfortunately, our republics do not have international status now, and war criminals committed their crimes in the legal realm of Ukraine, the Ukrainian People’s Tribunal, also known as “Donbass Tribunal”, was held jointly with the Lugansk People’s Republic in accordance with the Ukrainian law system in order that this sentence could be used later legally, be accepted and considered reasonable by the international community, the UN, the OSCE and the International Criminal Court. Therefore, the process was conducted in strict compliance with the Ukrainian law.

Another cluster of crimes will be compiled very soon, and a new tribunal will be held against Zelensky and his team,” Elena Shishkina told.
