Today, on November 20, in accordance with the scheduleв plan approved by the Contact Group, the DPR Representative Office to the JCCC passed to the OSCE SMM a notification about the completion of the main stage of mine action activities on the disengagement site No. 3 near Petrovskoye and the readiness to proceed with dismantling fortifications and other military facilities.

Under the coordination of the DPR representatives to the JCCC, the Republic’s Ministry of Emergencies Situations has carried out engineer reconnaissance of the territory and eliminated all minefields. However, the Emergencies Ministry units will continue to thoroughly examine the disengagement site and its adjacent territories to detect unexploded ordnances and other explosive hazards, and to ensure safe access during further elimination of fortifications, among others, for OSCE SMM monitors. In addition, there cannot be excluded attempts by the Ukrainian party to carry out sabotage, since in the night time the site is not monitored by the Mission.

The Republic will proceed to the implementation of the next cycle of activities provided that there is received an identical official notice from the Ukrainian party on the completion of mine action activities on the pilot site.
