Today, on November 20, activists of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement visited the wards of the Makeyevka special residential care facility No. 1. According to the organization’s press office, 51 persons are currently living in the institution.

Representatives of the DRPM held a cultural and leisure event for the elderly people living there, at which there spoke participants of the Republican Student Spring contest, who then presented sweets to the audience.

According to Sergey Goloshchapov, the Head of the Makeyevka City Council, secretary of the local branch of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, the residential facility’s wards are single people, Group 1 and Group 2 disabled persons who had been left without family and place of residence in old age.

“Age is uncompromising, but the State of law takes care of its citizens who worked for the benefit of their country. Care and attention to the elderly play a huge part in the formation of a humane and civilized society, teach young people respect. Unfortunately, the problem of residential care facilities is relevant at the moment, and it is very important to find ways to solve it in order to provide elderly people with comfortable living conditions in such social institutions,” Sergey Goloshchapov said.

For his part, deputy of the DPR People’s Council Vasily Pertsev emphasized the importance of such events and noted that this activity would be carried out regularly.
