On the air of the show In full Swing with Maya Pirogova on the radio station Respublika, DPR People’s Council deputy Alexander Malkov and the host discussed the Normandy format meeting featuring the leaders of the four countries in Paris on December 9.

“As for the Normandy format, I can say that Zelensky’s rhetoric before and after the meeting in Paris has changed greatly. A week ago, the president of Ukraine could take the liberty to say “it was not me”, “I did not sign it”. Now he has taken personal charge of the implementation of the Minsk Agreements and is responsible for this process,” Alexander Malkov noted.

The deputy also said that after the meeting, the Ukrainian side had made many contradictory statements and tampered with the wording of the communique signed by the leaders of the four countries in Paris. According to Alexander Malkov, all this was done because there is a great demand for nationalism in Ukraine and they need to retain the power formed under Poroshenko.

“Zelensky’s statements are no documents. These are just words aimed at calming down the radical forces of the country. As for the future of Donbass, given many similar historical examples, I can say that we will achieve our goal. Donbass is moving in the direction in which the rights and freedoms of its residents will be fully respected,” Alexander Malkov stated.
