The farewell ceremony for Nikita Fokin has begun in the Epiphany Cathedral of Gorlovka. The 20-year-old defender of the Republic was killed by a Ukrainian sniper on Wednesday of January 22 during the attack on People’s Militia positions near Dolomitnoye.
A correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic reports today, on January 24, that the farewell ceremony is being attended by Nikita Fokin’s family and friends, his commanders and fellow soldiers, thousands of non-indifferent citizens from Gorlovka and other towns. The day before, mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko expressed his condolences to the family of the fallen soldier.
It is noteworthy that all these events are happening against the background of the “international tours” of Ukrainian president Zelensky, where he talks with passion about his peacekeeping mission and his desire to end the combat operations in Donbass.
