The survey on the socio-political sentiments among the citizens of Ukraine that was conducted by the sociological group Rating has been made public. According to its data, the cessation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine remains the main public demand to the president (64%). DPR People’s Council deputy Oleg Onopko expressed his opinion on the survey.
“For the six years of the armed conflict in Donbass, the Kiev regime has proved its failure to win. The heavy defeats that Ukraine suffered on the battlefields and at diplomatic venues from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics convinced Ukrainian society that the further aggression makes no sense.
The Ukrainians expect of their president to fulfill the promises he made during the 2019 election campaign, not populist statements about an “avalanche of investment” and “business nannies.” The ongoing armed conflict gives rise to concern among investors. Few people dare to take the risk and invest in the corrupt, unreliable and non-negotiable regime that has been waging the war for years to its own end. Therefore, as long as hostilities continue in Donbass, there can be no talk of economic development in Ukraine,” the deputy stated.
