The number of prisoners due for exchange is constantly growing in Ukraine, which significantly delays the process itself. Commissioner for Human Rights in the Donetsk People’s Republic Darya Morozova commented on this fact in an interview with a correspondent of the DPR Official Website.

“Once again I want to emphasize that according to our demand, the exchange of 2019 will not be considered completed until the legal clearance is applied to all those Ukraine released. Now everything depends on the Ukrainian side, because we are ready to negotiate and always respond in kind,” Darya Morozova said.

In addition, the Ombudsperson pointed out that lists for the exchange should be formed in advance in order to know who takes part in the process and who refuses.

“Unfortunately, there were cases when the SBU incorrectly informed the prisoners about the terms of the exchange, so they refused it. But after our detailed explanations, they changed their mind. It is necessary to have such conversations in advance so as not to drag out the process,” Darya Morozova highlighted.
