Daily shelling of the Republic’s territory serves as a striking evidence of Ukraine’s unwillingness to follow the plan for a peaceful settlement of the Donbass conflict, Yana Rudych, a DPR Youth Parliament deputy, said.
“Last week, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Edi Rama called the Minsk Agreements the best solution to the conflict that has emerged in Donbass. Along with that, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, at a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Vadim Pristaiko, noted the absence of alternatives to the Minsk Agreements and urged Kiev to respect its commitments. This indicates that the international community notes the importance and the need for unconditional implementation of the agreements reached at the Minsk venue, unlike representatives of the Ukrainian authorities,” Rudych said.
The parliamentarian also spoke about Ukraine’s taking no interest in the Minsk Agreements’ implementation,
“All they do is vainly declare readiness for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, without taking any steps to have this done. If Kiev was really interested in the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements, the international community would not have to remind representatives of the Ukrainian authorities that the Package of Measures must be implemented.”
