Annually, on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the Labour and Social Policy Ministry of the Donetsk People’s Republic provides food packages to combatants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War and the 1945 War with Japan; combatants and invalids the war in Afghanistan; and families of the fallen warriors, the press office of the department reports.
The delivery is carried out according to the lists provided by the councils of districts, cities, and urban districts. Taking into account the age and health, such packages are delivered to home of сombatants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War and the 1945 War with Japan.
This year, food packages were distributed till February 29 inclusive and received by 306 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and almost 3.4 thousand combatants and invalids of the Afghanistan war, and families of fallen internationalist soldiers.
