A parade for one veteran took place today, on March 4, in frontline Dokuchaevsk. Members of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, cadets of Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School, Yunarmiya members, rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and others congratulated Vladimir Khlapov, a participant in the liberation of Donbass, on his 97th birthday, a correspondent of the DPR Official Website reports.
“Today marks a day of great memory! People of different generations, young and old, have gathered here to congratulate a wonderful man, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, liberator of Donbass, participant in the assault on Saur-Mogila Vladimir Khlapov on his 97th birthday. People like Vladimir are our pride, our happiness, our conscience and our courage! When looking up to them, we understand that our cause is just and we will be victorious!” Vice Chair of the DPR People’s Council Olga Makeyeva said.
In turn, the veteran expressed the wish that everyone celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory in good health. His words were welcomed by a triple military “Hurray!”.
“I want all veterans to feel our care this year,” People’s Council deputy Klavdia Kulbatskaya noted.
