The format of integration processes with the Russian Federation is expanding, Chief of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement’s Central Executive Committee Alexey Muratov stated.
“The evidence of that is yesterday’s statement by Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, in which the Head of State encouraged citizens of the Russian Federation living in the DPR and representatives of the public to join the discussion on the draft amendments to the Russian Constitution, proposed by State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin.
This proposal is a logical continuation of the policy of rapprochement that the parties are consistently implementing, and it is also legitimate, since tens of thousands of Republic residents have already acquired Russian citizenship. It is noteworthy, however, that this process is ongoing at an increasing pace, which confirms the commitment of the people of Donbass to the life-changing historical choice we made in 2014 against the backdrop of the nationalist coup in Ukraine, after which it actually lost its legitimacy as a state entity and requires reorganization in any case.
The ongoing military and political confrontation, the social and economic blockade, the restrictions arising from the lack of international recognition and other severe trials that have befallen our fellow citizens have only strengthened our confidence in the rightness of the decision made. Our choice is Russia!
And the post-Maidan mob headed by Zelensky may keep cherishing the unrealistic projects of “de-occupation” and “re-Ukrainization” of Donbass, trying to “talk round” the Minsk negotiation process, creating useless propaganda TV channels and forming fictitious puppet groups from representatives of the region, who actually betrayed it. None of that can stop our locomotive, which has confidently set out on the path and is rushing rapidly towards the cherished goal of reunification with the Big Homeland,” Alexey Muratov said.
