Over the past day, the armed formations of Ukraine engaged populated localities of the Republic 12 times, spokesman for the DPR PMD Oleg Nikitin reported during the briefing on March 17.
“On the Gorlovka front, fighters of the 58th brigade armed with heavy machine guns, small arms, and IFV guns engaged Zaytsevo and Mikhaylovka.
Also on this front, we detected the operation of R-934B and Bukovel-AD EW stations from the 20th EW battalion, The AFU were using them for jamming control and navigation channels of OSCE drones in the responsibility zone of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade to conceal heavy equipment deployed in Krasnogorovka (two infantry fighting vehicles and anti-aircraft guns), Zaytsevo, Severnoye (two infantry fighting vehicles), Druzhkovka (three armored combat vehicles).
On the Donetsk front, the forces of the 92nd, 28th, 57th brigades armed with 82mm mortars, heavy machine guns and small arms engaged Zhabichevo, Aleksandrovka, Staromikhaylovka and the Donetsk airport’s environs.
On the Mariupol front, fighters of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade using Stugna-P anti-tank missile system in violation of international humanitarian law fired at the vehicle that in accordance with the schedule was supposed deliver water to civilians of Sakhanka. It is noteworthy that the attack was launched while civilians were getting water.
As a result of the attack, one defender of the Republic was killed, another was seriously injured, a civilian suffered a concussion.
Currently, SBU and officers of the military police have arrived at the brigade to conduct an investigation into the firing with ATGMs. The ATGM crew who carried out the attack is giving a statement, after which it will be sent to a polygraph examiner to confirm the information. Such close attention to this attack is due to the fact that representatives of international human rights organizations addressed the commander of the so-called joint forces operation, demanding that those responsible for the attack, which runs counter to international humanitarian law, must be brought to justice.
We hope that after the investigation is over, all those guilty of this insidious provocation will get a well-deserved punishment,” Oleg Nikitin said.
