Russia has opened its borders to DPR and LPR citizens. In accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, residents of the republics can cross the border if their passports confirm the residency registration. A correspondent of the DPR Official Website visited the Novoazovsk checkpoint and told about the situation at the border.
“Traffic is not as active as it used to be, but, nevertheless, cars go in the direction of both Russia and the DPR. Mainly trucks with products and other goods cross the border. We also see private vehicles with Ukrainian, Russian and Republic license plates, there is no ban on movement,” noted Alexander Gritsenko, a correspondent of the DPR Official Website.
He also added that doctors are on duty at checkpoints and check the body temperature of drivers and passengers. The border crossing scheme has not changed anyhow.
