In an exclusive interview with a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, People’s Council deputy Valery Skorokhodov commented on the policy that current President of Ukraine Zelensky is pursuing under the foreign pressure, his disregard and non-adherence to the Minsk Agreements.
“The policy that America and Western countries are pursuing towards Ukraine, which led to the collapse of the country and the war in 2014, has not worked out in Donbass. Yes, external factors have an impact, but if a person honors his past and respects it, loves his Homeland, it is impossible to make him betray it.
Zelensky is a mean person, who betrayed his history, country, ancestors, his kind, his grandfather, who fought and defended the Motherland and his family. The Minsk Agreements, which Zelensky signed to end the war in Donbass, are not being fulfilled. Quite the opposite, he allocated funds to continue the war and exterminate the residents of the Republic, he is still backing the nationalist battalions. Zelensky is also promoting Nazi sentiments in Ukraine in every possible way, and always uses offensive rhetoric towards the people of Donbass,” Valery Skorokhodov said.
He also points out that the Donetsk People’s Republic complies with all its obligations under the Minsk accords.
“We won’t make any mistake, so America cannot take advantage of the situation to form accusations against the Russian Federation and unleash a conflict of international scale. The policy the DPR follows bounds up in and is inseparable from Russia’s policy,” the parliamentarian commented.
According to Valery Skorokhodov, the political and economic blockade imposed by Ukraine, its refusal to pay pensions, is an overt genocide of the people of Donbass.
“The residents of the Republic know their history, and our children are proud of the feats of their nation and honor the memory of the heroes, who gave their lives in the Great Patriotic War. Therefore, despite the blockade imposed by Ukraine and backed by Western countries, we will make sure that the situation of Ukraine never happens in the Republic,” the speaker added.
Valery Skorokhodov highlights that Donbass is self-sufficient, and despite some internal challenges, the economy is recovering, the Republic is being developed, gaining importance in the political arena and tapping into new international venues; its citizens are selfless people, who appreciate and love their country and do everything for its growth and prosperity.
