The presentation of new Aquachlorum units took place today, on March 5, in Kuibyshevsky District on the premises of one of the Voda Donbassa SE facilities under the jurisdiction of the DPR Construction Ministry. According to a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, the event was attended by Minister for Construction Industry, Housing and Public Utilities Sector Sergey Naumets.

“Aquachlorum installations are designed for disinfection of drinking water at water treatment facilities, as well as for additional chlorination and disinfection of waste water. Kitchen salt is used as a reagent. Although, drinking water in the Republic, according to laboratory tests, meets the necessary requirements, there have been complaints from the public to the Ministry of Construction Industry, Housing and Public Utilities Sector,” Sergey Naumets told.

According to the Minister, safety is the main advantage of water disinfection technology via this method. When chlorinating, the cost of ensuring safety when using liquid chlorine is many times higher than the cost of the chlorination process itself. The new models feature electrochemical cells with high volume current density, which allows increasing the final output threefold, power consumption and space limitations remain the same, at that.

“Three Aquachlorum units have been purchased so far, two of which will be used at the Kuibyshevsky waterworks. Their commissioning is planned for the very near future. This technology will be introduced whenever Aquachlor units enter the Voda Donbassa State Enterprise,” Sergey Naumets informed.

5 specialists are required per unit, they will get the necessary training in the near future.
