On March 28, parliamentarians considered a draft Law On Administrative Liability for Violating Requirements Aimed at Countering the Spread of the New Coronavirus Infection, the press service of the DPR People’s Council reports

The initiator of the draft law, People’s Council deputy and chairperson of the Committee for Criminal and Administrative Legislation Elena Shishkina, introduced it to parliamentarians.

“The draft law establishes administrative liability for violating the legislation that ensures sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population, consisting in violating existing sanitary rules and hygiene standards, quarantine rules of people during the high alert regime or state of emergency, as well as failure to comply with sanitary and epidemiological measures, requirements and prohibitions established by acts of the DPR Head, the Government and other state authorities. In addition, the draft law defines the range of government agencies and officials empowered to draw up protocols on administrative violations and conduct this category of cases,” the parliamentarian informed.

Given the importance and relevance of the law for the health and epidemiological welfare of the population of the Republic, the parliamentarians voted for its adoption in two readings.
